Hello, I'm Critteronimo (Critter for short). I am a shy Worldbuilder* and self-taught artist from Rural New South Wales, Australia.

I say Worldbuilder because it's easier (and sounds cool) but the world and all the creatures and characters in my head just turn up when they feel like it... I'm not really building anything, just recording the way things already are.
The main species in my art are my Shaguyans; large, highly intelligent, cat-like creatures of the genus Proximafelis. The very first Shaguyan species arrived back in ~2009 but it was in ~2010 that the first characters started filtering in.
There was a good amount of characters to start but the flood gates really opened with Onyx in ~2015; an Ember-Tail Shaguyan who unlocked so much... I wouldn't have half of what I do now without him.

Most of the big pieces of art I make are digital but I do a lot of sketching with good ol' pencil and paper. I also make 3D models of my Shaguyans and have an atlas-style map of their world. Also I of course write down their stories and all the details of them and their world.
My main “tools of the trade” are Krita, Blender, Clip Studio Paint, Obsidian, GenoPro and Inkscape.

I am also very against Gen AI, I don't nor will I ever use it in my work (and I'm not going to let "them" discourage me from making art)
In the words of J.R.R Tolkien from The Return of the King book (paraphrased slightly) - "Evil can only mock, it cannot make: not real things of its own."
I think that sums up Gen AI very well.

Some other random bits and pieces about me if anyone is interested - I love chickens (bantams especially), colour genetics (which has seeped into Shaguyans) and doing amateur macro photography (only on my phone but still).
I also enjoy building PCs, I've built my own and a few for others. Related to that is of course video games; some of my favourites are Skyrim (modded to death), Vintage Story, Subnautica, Red Dead Redemption 2 (and RedM... The Rift rocks!), the Horizon series, Gran Turismo and Big Walk (seriously, why is it so good!)And for a little bit of info actually about me - I'm pretty chill and friendly but shy, I am also Autistic and ADHD (with a marvellous meme collection about both). Getting me talking can be a problem.... then getting me to stop once I get going can also be a problem (ask about my chickens at your own risk).In closing, a quote that sums up my brain well:
